As for the Web 2.0 sites you mentioned...I would also watch for Squidoo and Propeller. These two are the best, from my experience.

Also, since you were referring to "gallstone symptoms", the user could also check out a "misspelling" on the term such as: "gall stone symptoms", which has even less competition, but using it in the Article should get a little extra traffic.
